A funeral service is a celebration of life and an acknowledgement that a life has been lived and has touched others. It provides a time and a place, for a caring and supportive environment that surviving family and friends can use to express their grief and provide support for one another. Throughout time society has created and is still creating new ways to provide a meaningful funeral service.
The funeral service is a tool that not only honors the individual who has died, but provides the first step in the healing process for the survivors. Funerals are after all for the living.
